Not so sure about S100 SEC

I want to make it clear from the start......I love S100 wax.

However I was picking at a spot on my paint the other day and sucseeded in actually scratching the surface with my finger nail.

Well I grabed a bottle of S100 SEC and went at it.

Well It would NOT remove this tiny scratch.

So I applied a light coat of Megs ( don't remember #) and one light swipe completely removed all evidence.

So my question. What is the actual value in SEC as a step in the process of the final shine??

If it does not actually do anything.................

SEC = Shine Enhancing Cleanser

It is a non-abrasive cleaner for use before applying your final coat of wax.

Kind of like a Dawn wash, only without the, (IMO), bad effects of using dishwashing soap on your paint.

SEC/GEPC is not a scratch remover. It's extremely gentle, almost like a glaze. As a part of a more integrated process it's a great product, but asking it to remove a scratch? Well, that's not really it's job, so of course it wasn't effective. Would you ask an electrician to do plumbing?

But good for you that you did find something more aggressive and get it out. That's the spirit!

By the way, why were you picking at your paint with your fingernail? That almost qualifies you for an Autopia Darwin Award. Just kidding of course :xyxthumbs

Good point.

Actually I needed a method to get across that this was a tiny scratch/mark. I thought a scratch from a fingernail would convey to the reader this. In all honesty I did not actually do what I described<grin>
