a while back i did a quick detail on my truck and was pretty unsatisfied. in the end my black truck ended up look pretty grey in direct sun light, i even started a thread about it...

anyway the first time around i washed, clayed, and polished with ssr1 on a white pad, then topped it with NXT. it looked pretty good in the shade, but in direct sun it was nooo good.

so i asked around did some more searching and bought a few new products...

so heres what i have to start with..

believe it or not the truck wasn't that dirty, but as you can see in the direct sun the truck looks like a very pale/greyish black. not what i'm lookin for.

and i guess ssr1 just didn't cut it from the first detail...

so i did as follows:

washed with NXT

dryed

skipped the claying as i just did it not two weeks ago

ssr2.5 with a white pad on a PC speed 5

AIO by hand to paint, wheels, windows, and trim

topped off the paint with some p21s by hand

and made sure to hit the tires with some dressing.

now i have a BLACK truck. i got to say i love the AIO p21s combo. looks freakin awesome IMO.

so here she is in full sun, looking very black

yeah its a great place to detail. its actually my cousins garage, which is also where i work. its a sign shop, and we do lots of truck lettering. if you look at the first pic you can see a freightliner in the backround.
