Not bird poop, but actual birds on cars

My wife and I bought a 2008 HHR in December for me to use as a work vehicle. It's a base model HHR,but I'm still proud of it and it's been a great car so far. I haven't had time to do a full detail yet,but I will someday.

About a week ago the crows that hang around where I work lit down on the mirrors and wipers and absolutely scratched the mess out of them. They destroyed the rubber in one of the wipers. The actual glass in the mirrors and the windshield was fine, but the plastic on the wipers and mirrors really took a beating. They did it again this week, and there was blood on the windshield and on the hood.!! The oil from their feathers gets all over the windows and windshield also.

Is there any sort of repellent to help with this?? I've seen them on vehicles down there before, but it was my turn this time I guess. I read that pigeons hated how WD40 smelled so I sprayed some on the mirrors. They haven't been back on them anymore, but that could've been a coincidence.

stuff cat in the dash would work. a good deterent that landfills use against seagulls are a bunch of fishing line. birds are afraid to fly under lots of lines.

Is that the only spot you can park?

Yes, we only have one employee parking lot. I think this problem arose from people throwing fast food bags in the back of their pickups!

try and get some of this reflective tape. It's supposed to keep birds away.

Bird-X Irri-Tape drives unwanted birds away

Thanks spamlova! I may have to give that a shot.

Hekyl and Jekyl really did a number on my mirrors! A guy at work came up with a good solution. He took two small boxes and put them over his mirrors. That would be an ultra-cheap solution for sure.

After you get tired of lookin at or removing that sticky mess, try tha grocery bags. works lika champ, plus they are easy to install/remove. Boxes will not work....tha wind will send them flyin unto someones ride.and that ain't cool.
