Not At All Thankful

My Mother-in-law took care of our dog and home while we were away over Thanksgiving. She is very helpful with such things, and I am grateful for that.

My car was a mess before we left - it was as dirty as I've ever allowed it to be - so I left it alone in our garage, with plans to give it a good wash upon our return.

My well-meaning MIL informed me this morning that she took the time to "gently" wipe down my car for me. :grrr

I'm so furious I right now .... :hairpull ... I don't know what to say.

:wall :wall :wall

WTH did she supposedly gently wipe it down with??

A broom?? :nervous:

Do you have more pics? I'm trying to decipher what kind of vehicle that is and where the damage is.

Sorry to see that. It's ashamed because in her mind she was helping you out... in your mind... well I'm sure that would be *censored* :doh

-edit- forgot to mention. Look at it on the bright side. At least your dog made it through unscathed. (I hope) :)

Looks like you will have to compound it and polish the paint out. Most women do not relate to delicate surfaces like paint unless remined of the time they spend to have their nails pampered. I guess I would take a deep breath and mention it to your mother in law after perhaps you let your wife see it. May be she can let her mother now it was not a good deed. but I am sure the twinky defense would not work for you in court.

Hope it is fixable.

sorry that happened. I'm in college and I left my car at home and the first thing I told my family is don't touch my car. One time my mom almost washed her own car before spraying the car down but I caught her in time, so I made sure that I don't have to spend my winter break fixing swirls.

OMG!!!!!!! *** did she use? A brillo pad?????? Now u are stuck trying to be the good son in law while deep down your anger boils..... Don't buy her an Xmas gift this year and tell her that the $$ was spent detailing the swirls she left in your paint....

:angry

That photo is the front hood of my 2006 BMW 550i. It's Jet Black.

I haven't dared look much at the rest of the car yet, but the hood seems to be the worst of it. :help:

Aww man, sorry to see that :(

Difficult situation, it's like it's unfair to get really mad at her, since she did it in good faith..

At least she was trying to be gentle, how would it have looked if she had said she gave it a thorough wipe down :soscared:

Hahahaha, oh dear...

Im not laughing at you, Im laughing with you, been in the exact same situation. If you care for you significant other, you go punch a bag for a half hour and then get to work fixing the paint. If ya dont care about your significant other, sue ;)
