Not a car and almost ready to polished

This past Sunday I got the random idea of painting my computer. This process started by me taking the whole computer down to the structure of the case itself. I have about 4 hours of sanding time. 17 hours in the paint booth/mixing room. The two colors that have are a Cadillac White Diamond in the interior of the computer and the exterior has a custom mixed lime green tri coat pearl/flake (in the pearl base coat there is about 11grams total of green and gold pearl on top of that is a 3grams of a larger House of Pearl Gold Flake on top of it all) Then I put 3 coats clear that layed out almost perfect not orange peel no blushing at all!

And on top of it all I get a grade for it :woot:

Heres is 48 total pictures in the link:

That's sweet! Make sure to post the finished product.

My case is plastic but I've been wanting to try some Meg's PlastiX on that and the PS3.

I have heard countless comments on why I would do such a thing. Reason because I like to be creative and I built this computer myself and wanted to be even different than the next guy thats just how I live my life. I know how to paint and I am almost done with my automotive paint training. So I decided to use my computer for my semester project. I think it turned out really cool.

Also if you think taking a computer apart and painting wait till you see a thread about me painting my printer and keyboard and mouse to match

I just want to know why you have candles and hand lotion on your desk? ;) ;)

Nicely done. :)

:har: Well the ladies just happen to like those two thing :grinno:

Here are a couple pictures of my almost/pretty much finished computer. If you look close you can see there are spots where I got happy with the pearl...oh well. Sure its not perfect but its still look nice and different from anything that you could buy.

Next step is wet sanding the interior and exterior then polishing. Then some old school hot rod striping inside and out to tie everything together. I may also attempt to do a Caddilac Grille instead of the dragon maybe.
