Noob Question - Process

I just did a full detail with my rotary and the results are decent but I still notice swirls. Can I just break out the rotary and polish or do I need to strip the wax off and then polish? Doesn't the polish wear down the wax anyway? Can't I just polish and the re-apply the sealant/wax?
 
yes you can repolish then rewax



but sometimes fresh wax can "gum" up the pad very fast

so it might be easier to do a wipe down with IPA

or just wait a few week or unitl it needs to be polished again
 
I agree with BigJim's first notion, just polish and then re-wax. Too many people think of wax as being something it's not (it's just an ultra ultra fine layer of slickness), so it'll come of instantly when you start polishing...and just wax again when you're done.
