NOOB Detailer needs advice

Hi All,

Back in Sept 07 I purchased a Mazda 3 MPS in black mica. The paint isn't what I would call jet black or metallic black. In the shade it looks that way, but waxed and in the sun it is like a very dark grey (almost black but not quite cause of the metallic).

And so commenced my addiction. I have read a lot of posts here and sure everybody understands.

I started with Zymol products. The Titanium wax was recommended to me (wish I had thought to spend more on the high end stuff). Problem with the Zymol process is no matter how hard I go to town with the HD-Cleanse, it doesn't help those spider web scratches that appear from washing. On that note, I try hard to wash correctly but obviously not hard enough. The webbing is only minor, but the more time goes on, the worse it gets and I constantly want a better finish.

So I am now waiting on my shipment of Zaino to give that a try. I have ordered ZAIO, ZCS, Z-2PRO, Z5, Z8, Z6, ZFX already have Z-PC (I think thats it). Basically all of the products. Here's what I would like to know

1. I'd like comments that a first time user needs to know about using the Zaino products that I wont find on the Zaino site. People talk about sealants in winter, carnauba in summer. Why? And does this apply to the Australian climate? I waxed my car one day during the summer. It was about 30+ deg celcius. After it sitting in the sun I realised there was a spot so I got out the cloth and gently buffed the area only to realise it looked like the wax had melted and left an oily liquid that simply smeared whenever I touched it.

2. Can you top Zaino with Zymol wax? Or is it not necessary even if you could?

3. With Z-PC I read on the Zaino site:

"Dark color surfaces, especially black, will sometimes leave you with a slightly hazy or milky surface after using Z-PC. Z-PC Fusion does not have any fillers or oils. To make the surface crystal clear, apply your ZFX enabled Z2 or Z5 to make this milky look go away, leaving a perfect, crisp, clear, BLACK and scratch free finish."

This basically makes me **** scared to use the stuff. It says the Z2 will correct it, but does that mean correct it permanently or just as long as the Z-2 stays on the car?

4. How do you start to learn how to use a buffing machine? I'd love to learn but not sure how. And walking around I now find myself checking out the finish of nice cars on the street and in car yards and all I ever see are cars that look spectacular in the shade, but in the sun you can see holograms from where they have been buffed. I saw an Audi TT the other day that looked like someone had taken to it with a grinder!

What I'm trying to say is, my hand detail looks better than these cars. So if these are so called experts working on the vehicles how do you find a good detailer that will leave your paint looking perfect?

I live in Australia by the way. I'm itching to learn. If I can find someone who REALLY knows what they are doing I'd love to approach them and offer my services for free on a weekend in exchange for sucking the knowledge out of them.

Thanks for answering any of my questions. Ill post a pic of my car when I think it's worthy.
