Non-Auto uses for AIO...

...or any other product for that matter. I'm sure that I'm not the only person that uses AIO (or something else) for random uses around the house...

I've used AIO on my white KSwiss tennis shoes and the walls of the shower. Last night I was trying to , um... "backup" some DVDs and kept getting a read error on 2 of the discs....I got one of those cd repair kits for christmas last year and tried it with no success...looked over to see my detailing products sitting there since I brought them in from the cold...pulled out the AIO and gave the dvds a quick coat...presto! Both DVDs "backed up perfectly :bow :bow

What have you guys used for non-detailing purposes?

Ever since I used APC on the garage chest freezer (it was black, now its white), my mom has been stealing it for any cleaning job she can think off. I tried to get swirls and scratches out our marble bathroom countertops with some opt. compound on a yellow pad to no avail. ummmm... ive used leatherique on our couches. I think that's about it.

I use Wenol and Eagle One Never Dull Metal Polish on the family heirloom 100+ year old brass candle sticks. I use Lexol leather cleaner on leather shoes. I use Folex on all carpet spots and clothing stains. I have the cleaning women use only Costco MF's for cleaning and dusting the house. I use Autoglym glass polish on my Rolex crystal and chronograph crystals as well as Meguiar's Plastic Polish on the acrylic crystals on my vintage watch collection

For some reason, this comment absoulely took me out...I can't stop lauging! :rofl :rofl :rofl

I use AIO on my bathroom mirror and countertop, on my kayaking helmet, and I've removed permanent marker stains from the kitchen countertop with it.

Oh yeah and I AIO'd the dishwasher. :)

Beats having to look at streaks on the glass and mirrors around the house. Plus with the antique furniture, it's a lot softer on them.

IN FACT, they're here now and I gave them a lesson on proper dillution of water to orange scented Pine Sol to clean the bathrooms with. The orignal tiling and porcelin fixtures are a 100 years old and I don't want them to be ruined.

Glad to hear you're the boss around the house Spilchy! haaha

Oh yeah, I have a custom modded/painted computer case and I AIO'd it when I was finished. Didn't fully "detail" it because I didn't go crazy on the paint job, but the AIO brought out plenty of shine.

I've used it on holiday dish and silverware to remove waterspots and oxidation. Works well on windows and mirrors that have been spotted. Also used it on shower doors. You can really use it on just about everything with a hard surface.

I've used AIO on the sink/bath tub spouts. I use Meguiar's Gold Class Leather on my chairs and leather sofas.

Ha! This thread is great. I never connected using AIO on car windows to using AIO on glass shower doors. The glass doors of my shower are so waterspotted you can hardly see through them. I think I found my project for tommorow.

Spilchy, just how old is your house? Or are you just an antique collector with the watches, furniture, fixtures, etc?

Forget it.... Your shower doors sound like mine and AIO couldn't touch em'. I've even tried

SSR2.5, 3 and a steam cleaner. The problem may be because I have a privacy design that is fogged glass and may be porous and the cleaners can't get in there to remove the soap scum. I'm about to take the doors off and just use a curtain.

I detailed the stove and fridge with AIO , then cleaned the kitchen floor with APC and a brush attachment with the PC and , just for fun , applied VM via PC and watched my two over-anxious dogs skid around on it while I tossed Snausages (tm)* about the kitchen.

....Gotta amuse yourself somehow.

Don't just use the AIO on the shower doors...use it on all the shower walls. Not so much to get rid of water spots but to get that nice beading...it makes it so much easier for your wife to clean the shower then ;)

I use AIO/SG on my cell phone every other week.

I gave my mom some irrregular MFs to use as dish rags and some WWs to use as dish and hand drying towels.

Use PBs S&W on tv and computer screens.

Use Perfect Detail on all windows and mirrors.

Use NXT All Metal Polysh on polished fixtures (faucets, lights, etc).

Use CGs Leather cleaner and leather conditioner on leather couch.

Thats all I can think of for now.

Wife?! Oh no no no.... I'm only 18. No wife for me. I'm just a very adult acting 18 year old that's annoyed by such things!

Can anyone recommend a decent mildew remover/killer for the corners of the shower? Does AIO on the toothbrush to remove and a bleach rinse sound like it would work? Autopia: The shower detailing website. :rofl

The shower doors that we have are solid pane glass with no etching/engraving/designs on them. Think that the AIO is still useless?

You might be ok, wouldn't hurt to try it. Depends on how hard your water is and how bad the spots are.

I was talking about my wife...I'm just a very non-adult acting 24 yr. old. :lol Seriously though, it works great on the walls of the shower. Wife bought some of that spray that you're suppose to use everytime you get out of the shower...yeah right...I told her if she was having that much trouble with the walls, I'd see if I could help out. AIO is a once every couple weeks thing, not a once everytime you get out of the shower thing. We threw away the full bottle of spray because I got sick of it sitting in the shower
