No Tracking #????

I ordered some wheels Monday through a company who through my own research seems legit. They have been in business for a long time and I have talked to others on forums who have good experiences with them. Obviously some of the people have also had bad experiences. I can understand that, you can't always please everyone.

My question: Have you ever heard of a company NOT releasing tracking numbers? They claim that it is for my sake. If someone stole my CC and ordered the wheels, then they would be able to(with the tracking#) call UPS/FEDEX and pick up the shipment from the hub. As opposed to them being forced to drop it at my house with signature.

They say that if you want to track it simply call them and they will do it for you. I will call tommorrow.

Just sounds fishy to me.

Anyone ever hear of this?

They have a point. If someone got a hold of that number they would know right when those wheels would be sitting on your porch. Easy for them to drive by grab them and then you are wheel-less.
 
Sound like :bsflag to me, chances are if someone already has your CC than they already know all of that anyway. And when you order online, you are the one who specifies the ship to address anyway

I've never ordered anything on line that I did not get a tracking number if I ask for it.

I'd watch this one and make sure that you get a delivery date from them.

I could be legitimate (the reason they are not giving it out) but....if you are calling, emailing asking for the tracking number and they charged you for shipping you have every right to ask for it. I have never heard of a company not giving out a tracking number.
 
oh and ask them nicely, if they still refuse then tell them you want to cancel your order and go with a vendor who does give a tracking number.
 
Thanks for the input guys. We will see what happens.

I plan on calling them tommorrow and asking for some info.

They claim that they will track it for you anytime. I will probably be putting that to the extreme test.
 
Glad you got them. Like I said, a lot of those companies won't e-mail you a tracking number in fear someone else will see it and know when the wheels will be sitting on your porch.

Exactly, I decided on these instead. The quality is IMO a bit better and just couldn't pass them up. I am going to mount them tonight, I had the tires mounted yesterday.
