No rinse interior cleaner

Can a solution of Optimum no rinse be made to use as an interior vinyl/plastic cleaner, such as dashboards and stuff? Or is it strictly for the outside of the car?

I think you could use it but I would try a mild mix of woolite and water.
I use a brush and whatever soap I'm using to wash my truck to clean the tonneau cover.
Also Meguiars has #39 it is a heavy duty vinyl cleaner.

I don't see why it couldn't, but then again I can't really see why you'd want to use it as such either. For practically the cost of a sprayer you can mix the Woolite:Water (if you've already got the Woolite and can sneak it out without the wife seeing). Just seems like ONR is geared more towards cleaning the exterior. You could always try it and see how it turns out.

I don't see that you couldn't use it for that reason but why?

You can accomplish the same with a mixture of APC or Woolite

I love to use ONR as an interior cleaner. The old formula, at least, as that's all I have. Haven't gotten the new stuff.

I *hate* shiny interiors (and shiny tires, too). I like interiors to look clean, with a matte finish just like they came from the factory. The previous formula of ONR gave that exact look, with no residue left behind. I'd just mix it at car wash strength, dunk an MF in it, wring it out very well, and clean the entire interior of the car with it. Even the glass. Of course the glass would get a follow up with Stoner's IG, but the ONR MF would knock out most of the crap on the glass, especially the "plastic haze" that develops on the front and rear glass. It doesn't have a lot of serious cleaning power, so there's bound to be a few areas that will need a real APC, but overall, ONR does a *great* job on interiors.

Supe loves ONR so much he gave up showering. Now all he does is wipe himself down with a damn microfiber towel with ONR at Wash strength.

I couldn't imagine how the old formula ONR would make an interior smell. That stuff was rank (at least to me). :D

It's funny to me how ONR has become the catalyst for arguments and drama threads that Zaino used to be. Heck, I'm surprised the DC forum didn't just asplode when I typed both names in the same thread!!

The formula Supe and I are using (last revision) has a lemon scent to it. Perhaps you're using the original (unscented) version?

Yeah - it was the original version. They might have called it unscented, but it smelled pretty bad. :) I don't think it affected how it worked, but after I used it up I stuck with QEW since I have a Camping World close by and I can pick it up when I drive by there if I ever need it.

I also prefer that close to factory look. I have used Meg's QID (under appreciated) and 1z Cockpit premium. DP's Total Interior Cleaner seems to work nice and great scent but seems overkill for maintenance wipedowns.

I will apply a protectant on most plastics one and a while. I really like DP Interior Protectant (buffs to a reasonable sheen) but I do nothing with the dash since any sheen is bad. I have not found a "neutral" protect (303 is still too much). The false leather scent can get a bit much on some products when used everywhere.

OK, where'd you hide the bathroom camera?

The very first version of ONR didn't have any added scent, and yeah, it was a bit nasty at full strength. Diluted down and used as an interior cleaner, it gave the car a bit of a "new car smell". Wasn't very strong and didn't last more than an hour, though. i still have a bit of the unscented stuff that I keep just for doing interiors.

The ONR formulation I have (the one before the latesy) is less intense to 1z CP.
