No place like home!

The Autopia forum has always been the benchmark for other forums, and despite being imitated (and IMO, very badly) no other forum comes close to the way Autopia used to be. I’m talking about the time before it became a place for the self styled elite clique, posers and those that required their egos to be massaged constantly.

Having observed the forum for the last few years it seems to be on an even keel. I for one are glad that it has returned to be the best place for detailing information on the Internet (without the former delicate egos and etc) and to see many of the ‘old forum’ contributors back and posting good information.

Admin, moderators and contributors this is a great ‘home’ for detailers and a place to seek and exchange information, great job thus far...

gmblack3- Glad to see you back, even without that "a" at the end of your user name ;)

I have always been "gmblack3" on the forums I frequent. I signed up here originally with that user name back in 2002 posting some work I did on my 01 Z06 and some family cars. In 2005 I started detailing professionally, came back here and could not remember my password. I had shut down the email address I used to originally register on this site. So for me it was easier to register again with gmblack3a. Recently I asked the wonderful new management here to combine the 2 accounts and they did.

gmblack3- Ah, thanks for explaining, now I'll quit beating you over the head with the subject :D I'd thought the "a" had some, uhm...inscrutable significance or something.

Thanks and you are correct Jon. Having several old timers back surely gives this forum a great dynamic. Everyone keep up the great work!

Indeed -- it's good seeing old friends return; I just wish I had the slightest clue how to get in touch with a few others I knew back in the day and get them on the forums again.
