No hose, no spicket, so how to wash?

I live in a condo in San Diego and have a one car garage to keep my beaut. My problem is that I don't have a practical or safe way to wash my car. So I'm looking for a way to wash my car and not piss off my girl in the process ;-) I'm new to San Diego so I don't have many friends in my area that have the means either

I was thinking of crafting a device or buying one that would hold 5 gallons of water (for rinse) and would be attached to a sprayer, kinda like one that you could use to spray plants or a lawn. Along with that I would use proper washing techniques.

I spent a some time searching this site and heard talks about "waterless" car washing but that just sounds scary. I do have plans to meet up with RAG for a proper wax/polish and techniques, but in the mean time I'd like to know if anyone on this site has any ideas?

Thanks!

+1 for ONR

- I was skeptical about using ONR on my "baby" as well. I only recently started using it for that reason.

However, it absolutely works great and if you use it properly (which is not difficult) it will not cause marring.

Many thanks and I will check out ONR! :-)

Jeepers, I just read about the product and it too sounds a bit hard to believe, but I'll give it a shot and try it on the girlfriends car first! :chuckle:

:woot2:

There's a new product out in Australia called the Car Cube which uses your cars 12v lighter socket to power it. Some here are using it to wash their vehicles... Iits basically a portable pressure washer with 13 litres of water. Here's a link.

Welcome to Car Cube

I don't know if this product is available in the US. Try a Google search for it. It certainly can help those out with no access to a hose and tap. Take it with you & use it anywhere...

hope this helps out a little.

Got one here too Petey. Ive been watching its development. I cant remember its original name, but the company was once sold, and the product has been redesigned. The American model is called the Nomad.....

Cool products!

Those are pretty neat. Though I would see myself using them more when camping or at the lake on a friends boat moreso than when washing my car.
