Nissan Skyline GT-R 34 Metallic Black

The car is a Nissan Skyline GT-R 34 in metallic black.

The original plan was just to give it a one-step polish and then straight to wax. However when the owner brought it in, he realized of the horrendous scratches after I switched on the halogens. The scratches weren’t there before and he usually washes it himself carefully, wiping it gently.

Unfortunately, the day before, his maid washed his car, and this happened.

We were both shocked. Usually I would take two days to do a full correction detail and after testing, a one-step polish wasn’t enough to get rid of the scratches. So I told the owner that I would try to do a two-step polish which consisted of

1) Meguiar’s # 83 Dual-Action Cleaner/Polish @ 1500 rpms with W-8006 polishing pad

followed by

2) Menzerna 106FF @ 900 rpms with W-8006 polishing pad.

The paint isn’t 100% as there are still many random deep scratches which needed compounding.

Not many process pics this time as I was rushing against time.

After polishing, M21 and FK Pink wax was applied

And here are the after pictures. They are taken the day after the detail and has been driven, please excuse the light dust =)

THANKS FOR LOOKING!

Looks great!

That is a GT-S, though, right?

+1. I believe it is the later model of the GTS-T which actually comes with RB25DET NEO engine and has close to the same HP as a GT-R (280bhp, which those who know the Skyline or has driven one like me :D, is way underrated!) Great job though and love that car!

Hi fishbonezken,

Good amount of correction considering the limited time you have :xyxthumbs

Hmm, I do agree with the other that the car doesn't look like a GT-R. It doesn't look very agressive as a GT-R should. It could be a GTS, but I am not too certain of the range.

You might want to try experimenting higher speeds with the rotary for paint correction, I am currently experimenting 1700RPM OC+W8006 on my car, so far so good ;). Just remember to finish off under 1000RPM to reduce chances of swirls. I personally use 600RPM.

I am looking forward to your next detail :up

Beautiful car and excellent job on the paint! :bow

DACP really suprised me via rotary with how well it removes defects without trashing the paint. I take it you noticed the same?

i was gonna say... doesnt look as cool as the gt-r's i remember seeing. either way decent car, needs to go down a inch or two on the wheels tho. nice turn around. LOL @ maid washing his car.

Yeah, I hate it when my maid washes my car....just kidding. Nice job, aweesome car!!!

Whats worse is when my butler changes my oil. UGH. Leaves greasy prints all over the place.
