Nissan Murano One Step - TLC Auto Detail

Hey everyone. Today we’ve got a Nissan Murano that was scheduled for a one step correction. This color did a very good job at masking a lot of the swirls and blemishes, but they were still there.

As is normal we started with the wheels, tires, and wheel wells. The wheels weren’t that dirty, but they still needed a good cleaning. The wheels were cleaned with Wolfs Clean and Seal, while the tires and wheel wells were cleaned with Blackfire APC mixed 3:1. The wells were dressed with CG Barebones and the tires were dressed with Blackfire tire Gel.

Next the vehicle was foamed with a mixture of Meguiars Gold Class and Optimum OPC to loosen and remove as much dirt and debris as possible.

While the foam was dwelling the fuel filler area, trim, and emblems were agitated with a Raceglaze brush.

After that a normal wash was performed with Blackfire Soap and a Griots wash pad. For the decontamination the vehicle was sprayed with Wolfs Decon gel to remove any embedded iron deposits and then clayed with the Ultima Clay block using CG Luber as lube to remove and other contaminants.

It was tough to capture the swirls with a camera so I manipulated the following pics so you could see the swirls better. The finish wasn’t terrible, but the normal wash induced marring was there for sure.

For the correction I used Menzerna FG500 on a new LC Hybrid Blue pad on the Flex DA. This left a very good finish, but I wanted to amp up the gloss so I followed it up with Blackfire Total Polish and Seal on a black LC pad also on the Flex DA.

Here are a couple sun pictures. They also have been manipulated a bit to try and show the true condition of the paint.

The exhaust tips (and the rest of the chrome for that matter) was polished and sealed with Collinite Metal wax.

For protection I went with my new favorite combo. A layer of Blackfire Wet Diamond Sealant, topped with Blackfire Midnight Sun Wax. This gives an amazing look in my book that is very glossy, but also has tons of depth. Here are some reflection shots.
