The second detail of the weekend was this rather funky looking little Nissan Fiagro, which like the S2000 arrived with general road grime as you'd expect at this time of year:
Only a short write up for this one I'm afraid as it was a very busy weekend with two cars in the unit, but hopefully the essence of the detail will be shown with the thread
Foaming, washing and claying the paintwork revealed fading and swirls to the paintwork on the car:
Holograms on the repainted section from the bodyshop...
Machine polishing started off on the bonnet and after assessing the paint thicknesses which varied around the 120um mark on the original paint, and up to 1200um on the resprayed panels!!
The bonnet showed to be faded with some swirling...
Working up through the abrasive scale I decided on Menzerna Intensive Polish PO85RD3.02 applied as follows:
Work in progress on the bonnet:
And after refining using Menzerna PO85RD Final Finish as follows:
The white roof was also inflicted with swirls:
After correction and refining as described above:
Before pictures of the beige paintwork:
After paintwork correction:
The brightwork on the car was treated by Bryan using Briliant #2 Polish applied by hand to restore the shine and remove oxidisation... The finish was then refined using Briliant #3 Polish by hand.
To protect the paintwork, two layers of Collinite 915 wax was chosen for durability. Glass was cleaned using Autosmart 20/20, tyres treated with Meguiars Hotshine, wheels protected with Smartwax Rim Wax. Black rubbers and plastics protected and dressed with Black Wow.
After shots of the Figaro:
And some arty shots...

I really enjoyed this funky little car - and was delighted with the way the paintwork and brightwork came up. For a car made in 1991, it was certainly looking fresh!
Sorry for the shorter than usual writeup folks, but as you can appreciate, it was a busy weekend to have two paint corrections on the go
Have to say though, it was a hugely enjoyable weekend! :thumb:

Working up through the abrasive scale I decided on Menzerna Intensive Polish PO85RD3.02 applied as follows:
- Spread polish at 600rpm
- Begin working at 1200rpm for a couple of passes
- Work at 1500 - 1800rpm until the residue goes clear (worked for 2 - 3 mins)
- Refined at 1200rpm for a couple of passes
