Next step?

Ok, I actually got out and washed and polished the car this weekend. It had a good amount of swirls/holograms that needed to be removed. Unfortunately, with daylight savings, it was dark before I could remove the EX. Anyway, on to my question. I used some SSR2 with a polishing pad and PC at 5 or 5.5. Did a good job of getting most of the swirls out, but not all (found that out today at lunch when I went to look at the hood to check my work. FYI, a flourescent handheld light does not show any swirls!!). So, should my next step be:

1. Go again with the PC/polishing pad/SSR2
2. Step down to PC/polishing pad/SSR1
3. Go to PC/cutting pad/SSR1

The swirling is minor, but enough to annoy me. Not sure if SSR1 will cut it (pun intended). I think it might need another pass with SSR2 to really get it silky smooth and shiny. Thanks for the input.

I would take another pass at the SSR2.5. It won't remove everything all the time, but it usually works really well for me.

If it annoys you, then you may need to step up to 2 or 2.5 and a light cut pad (if you have one) or the SSR2 and cut pad. See what that does for you and then step back down to the polishing pad.
