Next more aggressive polish?

Ok, I just got my PC and have been practicing/using it for the last couple weeks, and I need some advice.

One of my cars (still) has moderate swirls. Not a LOT of them, but the ones that are there are medium depth but still clearly removable.

I have (and have used) Pinnacle SMR and Advanced SMR, and also 3M Perfect-IT II Fine Cut Rubbign compound. Used the most aggresive with an orange pad (don't have a yellow). It helped, but I still can't get the last remaining marring and minor scratches out.

Should I try Meguiars medium cut cleaner or SSR 2.5? The comparison charts I've seen say SSR 2.5 is about the same aggressiveness as the Perfect-It II, while the medium cut cleaner is a bit more.

Ideas and thoughts? I can get the Meguiars locally at a auto paint and finish supply house. Might also pick up some of their "professional" products to try (they had some polishes that looked interesting, designed for rotary or DA, and one other that caught my attention was a water-based plastic/vinyl/rubber protectant that was $17 for a gallon).

If you're looking to get something locally that is equivalent to SSR 2.5, pick up a bottle of Meg's Dual Action Cleaner Polish (DACP). Lots of folks here (including myself) get great results with it. I use DACP and a yellow Edge2k pad (medium cutting) as my most aggressive combo, and it works quite well. Leaves some light hazing, so I usually follow up with SSR1 or 2.

Cool - they had that as well. According to the Meguiars site, it's not as aggressize as the medium cut...but I might be remembering wrong.

I'm very tempted to ask the guys there if that professional brand they carry is similar, or better or worse. It had three grades, and the labels said all three had diminishing abbrasives...

Other thoughts or suggestions welcome!

Products more aggressive than SSR 2.5 / DACP are usually intended for use with a rotary. Luck with SSR3 on the PC seems to vary, some people have had it work quite well, others have not.

Ah. Just went to Meguiar's site and looked at the stuff you are talking about. It's definitely rotary only. I have a (still unopened) bottle of the fine cut cleaner, one step down from the medium, and it is rotary only as well. See this thread for what the folks here had to say.

I used the Meguiars #4 Heavy Cut Cleaner with PC and it did not do much cutting. I later found out on Meguiars site that was for rotary only. I buffed someone elses car and used all of the PB's SSR 2.5 that I had. I was going to buff my truck and did not want to wait on ordering some SSR2.5. I found the Meguairs DACP in town and bought some of it. I think I will buy a rotary for
those tough corrections and refine with the PC. I reckon the DACP is about the most aggressive polish that can be used with a PC? Any thoughts on this?
