Hey guys for now I'd like to just do some basic car polishing (no show quality stuff for now) and am wondering if the stock white pad that comes with the PC 7424 is ok for applying car polish? I have a 2002 RSX and the paint is not in bad shape at all.

In the near future I'll get a full pad kit.

Thanks in advance.

The overwhelming consensus is to trash it. Several people have reported it tearing apart on them.

Some folks have used it for polishing their glass, but if it happens to shred there could still be problems on a window/windshield.

Also, what is the washer that came in the bag with the wrench for the PC for?

Did you read the manual?

"A spacer is supplied with the 7336SP and 7424 to allow the backup pad to clear the eccentric plate screws. Mount the spacer on the shaft before attaching the backup pad."

It's worth keeping around for some stuff, like using it as a base for bonnets and someone recently mentioned using it to buff out tires.
