Hello Everyone.

I am new but would love to learn.

I first plan on getting a machine to cut down my time on waxing. I was planning on getting an Orbital Buffer. I found one $130 not sure if that is the best way to go? so that is why I am asking. I wax by hand but want to do it by machine without messing up the paint.

Next what is a good vac prefer a wet/dry vac somthing with good suction?

or a good vac to get stains out like the one's that shoot out hot water?

Prices that they can go for and websites would be great.:xyxthumbs

Welcome to Autopia :wavey

A lot of people here use the Porter Cable 7424 Orbital. There is a thread about it in the Hall of Fame forum and there are some great articles in the Learn icon above. I got mine from www.coastaltool.com last year for the $120 with the 6" backing plate and 6" counter weight. Great deal.

Also, as far as vendors, the Shop icon has a bunch of trusted stores. :xyxthumbs

I'm sure someone else will comment on the vacuum. I'm just using an old shop vac which is on my list to upgrade.

A good starting place is to click the "learn!" icon at the top of the page and read all the articles.

Another good source of information is the "Hall of Fame" forum.

Tip: For the acronyms that you see on this site click "home" then on the left click "acronyms"

Hey you guys are awesome I just posted and already got answers.

Way cool !!!

I was planning to use the Port cable just forgot the name. Sorry.

Is there anything else that any one would recommend other than that?

Are the Vac's that shout out hot steam or water expensive?

Thanks for the advice.

Not really... there is a DeWalt tool that some people like (like Intel486) but the "PC" is the one most here use. In my sig there's a thread that makes some suggestions and has some helpful links in it.

About the vacuums: Yes, the good ones are expensive, but the cheap ones might be enough for casual use. They are nowhere nearly as powerful though.

What accessory should I plan to get with the porter cable?

What is the difference withe the 5 inch or 6 inch?

Pads ,and chemicals . shop around for pads and prices you like .It seems they all are pretty good ,just in what you like, and what you want to spend..

Are you refering to the pads or the counterweight??
