I've been posting for a few days, but I thought I would say hey. My names Michael and I work for a growing mobile detailing company, Southern Auto Detail, in Charlotte, NC. I've been doing this for about 5 months and my boss has taught me a LOT. I've seen him do some amazing things on everything from classic cars to Lamborghinis. This seems like a great site and I hope I can bring a little bit of knowledge to it.

Welcome!

Just gotta ask. :)

What the heck is a "hybrid 240Z XT"?
Sounds like a Datsun 240Z with a big block Chevrolet in it.
Well, maybe not, but I'm pretty sure it isn't a gas/electric hybrid, either.

yeah that...i was just waiting for someone else to ask :notme::notme::notme:

I have seen a 240z with a 12 cylinder Jag engine...mostly I saw the exhaust and tail lights:drive: :drive:

Welcome to DC!, and nice name.

Michael- "Who is like god?" that or "in the image of god"

(its true im not even making this one up)

Well, to break it down...

Hybrid, in this case, means a car that has an engine from a different car. I do have a 72 240Z and I am building a motor from an 82 280ZX turbo. Hence the ZXT. Don't expect to see any pics of me washing that anytime soon though, its in a million pieces.

If you have a question about Z's, you ask me. I've seen then with everything from small blocks, big blocks(drag only), Jag V12, Skyline RB26, Viper V10, Grand National V6, even a jet engine, you name it.

sounds cool  I know people in the San Diego area that also specialize in only Z's ...240's and 260's were the best of the breed IMO :rockon

That's not an opinion, it’s a fact.;)

When do you expect a finish date?
No clue. I acquired it when I was 14 and planned on having it done by my 16th birthday. I then planned on finishing it by the next summer for my senior year in high school. Then I planned on finishing it in the summer of 05, but I ended up moving away from home and have had no place to work on it since. The good news is that this summer I will be moving into an apartment where I will have a garage and can finally start putting the pieces back together. It will all be worth it in the end though.

It's the love of my life... [girlfriend beats me on head]

I am from Charlotte originally! Lived there for 8 years! I love it there! Want to move back there and possibly open up my own detail business! Its a hot commodity down there compared to Columbus Ohio! Welcome to the site!

I love Charlotte as well and its growing faster and faster everyday. I think this is a great area for this type of business. Business is booming and clients keep coming faster and faster. The weather is about perfect for it too. Not that I'm looking for anymore competition(jk:D ) but I would say this would be an excellent place for you to start your operation. Best of luck!

Thanks! Good luck to you as well! Don't know if you looked into it yet location wise, but the Ballantyne Area has alot of nice cars and could be a spot you could look into as far as marketing goes! I would venture to say you could make alot of money if you get some things going there! Its where I used to live! Enjoy the nice weather!

A lot of my business comes from the Ballentyne, Piper Glenn area. Also Providence Rd. towards Waxhaw is exploding. Thanks for the tip hope to see you in the area sometime.
