I`ve been lurking forever and already learned a ton from this forum so first off thank you.

I got a new truck a few month ago and decided to coat it with OPT Gloss-Coat. I don`t have a garage but managed to convince my parents to let me use theirs for a few days. I spent 3-4 days ~8 hours a day on it. Taking my time to make sure I did every thing right. Everything went very well.

The day I take it out of the garage to go home there is a massive rainstorm. I had to laugh because there wasn`t much else I could do about it. I just hope that I got good coverage with the Opti-Seal. Only time will tell I guess. I`ll be giving it a wash in a few weeks after I go do some dirt bike riding. At least I was able to keep it out of the elements a good 48 hours before it got wet.

Every wash from now on will end with a good spray down of McKees Hydro Blue to hopefully prolong the life of the Gloss Coat.

Welcome to the forum!

Great that you did take your time and let it sit for a while. Think that even if you did miss some spots with opti-seal your coating did not been harmed in the raining. Just have you eyes on when you applying hydro blue if used after every wash. If you use those spray on rinse off coating products to often they can easly start streaking on you after some applications. Once a month or every two months is more than enough. Would recommend you to get carpro Ech2o if you want to use a drying aid or QD product. That way you don`t apply so concentrated of a product to maintain the coating.

Thanks everyone and thanks for the info on the Hydro Blue. I`ll probably only wash the truck once every 4-6 weeks (a lot less in winter). I washed my last car all the time but I think I need to tone it down a notch and maybe less washing will help prevent scratches/swirls.
