It was unusually warm today for Janurary (It hit 51 degrees here in NH) so I took advantage of the good weather to get a detail in that had been put on hold until warmer weather arrived.
This Taurus was quite a project. As you can see from the trunk photo, the car was covered (and I mean completley covered) in bird poop, most of it obviously from berries (not good). Picture the entire car being like the before pic of the trunk. This car is parked oustide 365 days of the year, so it was in rough shape in terms of swirls and stains as well. The only washes this thing sees are the occasional trips through an auto-wash/swirl-o-matic. That's the only reasons it's not completely covered in salt. The before pictures don't do the poor condition of the paint justice. As you can see, there was no bright sun to speak of, so no great before and after swirls shots.
Process was:
No claying: I worked on the car about 6-7 months ago and clayed back then.
All polishes applied with a PC 7424.
Meg's #82 on most of car, Meg's #83 on horizontal surfaces
Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish on entire car
Blackfire All Finish Paint Protection on entire car (by hand)
Meg's Endurance high gloss gel on tires
SG on wheels
NXT protectant on trim
Stoner's Trim shine on texture trim
Stoner's IG on all glass/mirrors
Don't know why the camera added the annoying date marks to every pic because it doesn't usually do that. The times are all wrong. It was actually much earlier in the day.
Before, but after a quick spray-down:
