New what pads / compounds to start

Hey all so I am learning to use my rotary, what should I start with? I am not asking brands specifically as Iam sure theres enough opinions to last 10 threads but more like aggresiveness. Should I even mess w/ wool pads? Should I just start w/ foam mild cut polish then a foam finish? How about product Should I try cutting compound or stick to cleaners or polishes. I basically just want to get rid of mild scratching and webbing w/o getting holograms or swirl marks. All input welcome aswell as brands. How about 3m for a beg. Like finesseit or swirl remover etc TIA

I think a little research on rotary use is in order. Most if not all of those questions can be answered with a search on rotary use. There is a ton of info on this site on that subject.

if you are trying to remove mild scratching, better if you do it by spot.

Yes you can try compounding, use it with LC orange.

for swirl marks you could use cleaner/polishing product, for example using meg's 83 than 82/9.

So mis megs83 a cleaner and 82/9 a polish? same pad for each or cleaner for cleaner and finish for polish?

You can use polishing pad for 83 and finishing or polishing pad for 82/9

you must spot test first to find the best combination.
