Hey guys,

Im just shopping for a new shop vac. My price range is $100-$150.

Any suggestions of what you guys are using now?

My metro isnt wet dry and trying to shampoo carpets otherwise is very difficult. I do this for a living so I need good quality that will last a long time with minimal maintaince.

Thanks

Trent

I would check out the fein I just got mine a few weeks ago. Its nearly impossible to tip, awesome suction, very well made and its so quiet. Only drawback is no blower.

I use the top of the line ridgid one with the wheels and handle (home depot around $125) works great. I have good things about the fein also.

I bought a Shop Vac (Quiet) Pro a few years ago and upgraded the filter to Gore-Tex (wet/dry and washable) and it does a terrific job....around $90. Gore-Tex filter was $24.

Has anyone used the new Dewalt cordless vac? I have a tool kit and some batteries so i was wondering if maybe the vac would be a good investment for doing portable detailing

If you go with the Rigid or Shop-Vac I'll second tom p.'s suggestion on the Gore-Tex filter. It's an excellent upgrade.

The Fein is a really nice unit, very quiet. With accessories it will probably push out of your stated price range.

Id reccommend the Rigid brand also. I have one that ive had for 4 years and its been through hell and back with me.

I 2nd this, the rigid 16 gallon wet/dry vac is excellent, it also has a detachable blower that works great.
