Hey Rusty... first off... Welcome to TID!!!

And congrats on the new VW STI!

I always use sealants as opposed to waxes.

After using Blackfire Wet Diamond, I have been very impressed on both dark and light colors. Do some scouting around on this forum and you'll see what I mean. Very wet and slick!!!:hurray::drool5:

Thanks for the welcome Bill, i have read heaps of your posts, please keep it up. Oh by the way i have access to BLACKFIRE as i sell it here in OZ.
Also have ZAINO as well but as mentioned have had any experience with Euro paint and its my first silver car, all previous have been black!!!!.Time for a change mate.
Cheers
Rusty

I've been using Zaino for almost 10 years... It is still one of the main go-to products that I use. I have, as I stated, been impressed with BFWD and it seems to do an excellent job.

At the time I started using Zaino, I had never seen any sealant that even came close. I used Klasse a few times and found Zaino to be slightly better for my purposes. I'm sure Blackfire will stand the test of time, but I have only used it a few times.

I'd recommend any of the three (Zaino, Blackfire, Klasse) on silver.

I've got two VW's (welcome to the family!) one black and one yellow, but I have had blue, silver and platinum in the past. I used to use the Zaino (and still do occasionally) but I've moved on to Prima Epic. I'm really happy with it. I use the Prima Mystique for the wash and most of the clay out there is pretty much the same as long as it's not marked "aggressive". i think I use the Clay Magic stuff. All great stuff.

D!

Hey Rusty! Congratulations on the new VW! I'm not real familiar with the current paints used by VW, but can tell you about the paint on the Wife's 2003.5 VW NB Turbo S. It is called Reflex Silver. It has a ton 'o flake and the clear is pretty darned hard at least similar to some of the Audi paints I've seen.

I have used a couple of different sealants and have always been quite satisfied in the resulting look. I have no experience with Blackfire, but if you are selling it, you are probably already quite familiar with it's look and durability. Sounds like a pretty safe choice.

Hello Rusty and Welcome to TID. You will find the Blackfire Wet Diamond , Klasse and One that alot of folks over look is FMJ will make silver look awesome!
