I am considering coating my choices are kamikaze ism, miyabi or zipang.as with all coatings they have a life. When the life ends do I need to polish to remove or do I apply a new coat every few years ?

It`ll likely start fading way in specific areas first, like lower vertical panels (doors and such if in Northern climates) and at that point, polish it off and re-do.
I`m at about 21 months, 37k miles on my daily (NE Ohio) with Miyabi x 2, ISM x 1, maintained with Overcoat and hood, roof, decklid doing great but lower side panels starting to fade.
Will redo this summer with Zipang-Miyabi-Zipang w I`m thinking will get me another year, 17k miles due to linger Zipang longevity (claimed) but only time will tell.
Wife`s daily which I did in 10/2016 with same combo is still doing great everywhere but it`s only got 17k, mostly local miles. Does sit outside 24/7 9 months a year but that seems to have no ill-effects on it.
