New Truck, First Detail

I used to frequent these forums quite a bit, but lack of time and ever increasing miles made me care less about detailing my Explorer. Well, I just purchased a new F150 Lariat, and wanted to get something on the paint.

I have been a long time Zaino user, and Meguiar's professional line before that. I liked the way Zaino applied and came off, that it was dustless, and that it did not stain trim but after having 50 bucks worth of ZFX up and vanish from its vial I got frustrated and decided to use something else. After seeing what the latest greatest was around the forums, I thought I would give Prime and AJ a try. So far I like them, although they do require more elbow grease than Z. I clayed using a Mothers clay bar kit (no time to stop by Finishmasters for a big bar of Claymagic), applied and removed Prime and finished with one coat of AJ.

Here are some pics for you:

Overall I like Werkstatt products. After using Prime and AJ I ordered some QD, shampoo, clay and other odds and ends from Jeff. I plan on layering more AJ on, but I ran short on time today.

Please let me know what you think!

Your efforts paid off. Nice job with the Werkstat products!

I'm loving that color:) and great detail,

but is it just me, or does it have massive OP??

Either that or it's missing some clearcoat?? The reflections just don't look sharp to me...

Yep, it has OP just like most factory paint now-a-days, but the only picture I focused on the reflection is the hood. I will take some interior pics for you guys on a sunny day. It has a nice interior and I have already put some weathertech mats inside. I was running out of daylight when I took these pics.

Thanks for the comments!

every 04+ f150 I see has real bad orange peel.

Dark stone is a great color though!
