I recently bought a PC and bought an old 93 Lexus ES300. Needless to say, it's got lots of swirls and scratches and even some stubborn bird turds.

I only have the white pad that came with the PC and so I need to buy some pads and chemicals. I don't know what types of pads and chemicals I need, but once I buy it and start the detailing, I'll probably do it over a couple of weeks because I get tired after a whole day of cleaning the car. But help me figure out what type of products and pads I need. Then I'll try to make the car look as good as possible.

It's a dark green car. I also have a light silverish nissan as well. Thanks. I'll be using the stickies to learn how to use the PC. but is sounds like it's the safest to use and very effective.

Aloha SamMan , congrats on getting your PC. Yes they're safe and easy to use with a short learning curve.

First you'll want to get a velcro backing plate for your PC so you can switch pads easy . Its called a hook and loop backing plate. Our sponsor carry them .

for pad selection I like Lake Country 7 1/2 in. get 2 of each color if your can.

For polish and buffing products I started with Poorboy's and like 'em soo much I've stuck with them. There's soo many polishes out there that it gets aliitle confusing so I stick with what I know . And thats PB's.

You'll need:

SSR 2.5 w/ yellow pad for swirls and scratches. Might have to go over the horizontal panels twice or even at 6k speed on the PC .

SSR1 w/white pad to clean everything up . Some people skip this step as the 2.5 does such a good job they go right to a wax or sealant .

Klasse All-in-one (AIO) can also be used w/great results after 2.5 .

Once you're satisfied with the finish then protect it with some PB sealant . EX for dark colored cars and EX-P for light colors . easy on easy off . You can apply by hand or with PC on 1k . I apply 2 coats , waiting 48 hrs betweeen for curing purposes and then top with a non-cleaner wax. I use PB's Natty's wax. Its great .

Of course don't forget to wash and clay the surface before all of this.

WE get 10% off when ordering from this boards sponsors so take advantage of that .

Good Luck and post some pics later..
