New to forum need rotary advice

Hello all Im new to autopia came over from bimmerforums.com. I have had a couple detailing jobs in the past so I know most the basics, but someone else has always down the polishing. So I just got myself a cheap rotary and plan on practicing on worthless cars and body parts. What type of pads should I learn with and start out on? Wool, foam? Should I learn to just polish first or cut then polish? Any advice on aggresssiveness of products would be appreciated. TIA guys and hope to hear back from you.
 
Welcome what kind of BMW do you have? For rotary advice I would use the search function this subject has been talked about over and over again and you can find some great advice. There are some really informative people on this site.

Thanx guys, I always am changing Bimmers as I buy and sell them, currently I have a 94 325is boston green. My daily driver is a E55 AMG, and 02 SVT Lightning. Thanx for the tips guys.
