Hello fellow detailers, my name is Kevin im from london ontario canada. I am new to this forum but have always been cleaning, washing, waxing and detailing my car. I am new to all these products that are on this site and that alot of you guys use. I am used to over the counter products. I know alot of my friends tell me i have OCD for cleaning my truck all the time but eh when you pay alot of money for your vehicle you want it to look as good as you can make it look. I would love to get into the detailing buisness as i love making cars shine and making people happy. My vehicle now has some light swirl marks all over as i just got this vehicle last tuesday. Its a 2008 Jeep compass grey. Also have a question for you guys i have speckles of something on the roof and am unsure of how to get them out. Anyways thanks guys and hope that while reading and looking at some of your before and after pics i can learn alot more than what i already know. Thanks again and have a great day. :yourrock

Welcome to AF! What color is the jeep? And the spekles your talking about can you feel them after you wash the car? It sounds like fall out. You could look into a clay bar, I think todd put a post up of how to properly clay paint. If you can't find one let me know and i'll do a step by step write up for you on how to safely remove fall out!

Welcome!Post photo of the speckles, have you tried claying?

Sorry i guess i should have worded it differently i have speckles on the ceiling in the car, not on the roof. Sorry about that.

And Thanks everyone for the welcoming to the site, i know this is a great community on here as i can see from all the posts i have read. I look forward to learning from you guys for sure.

Welcome to AutopiaForums! It sounds like you have dirt embedded on the headliner?

Cleaning headliner is always tricky because you want to avoid saturating it with any liquid. If you get it too wet the glue that binds the felt like material to foam can loosen and the headliner can sag. I would dilute a high quality all purpose cleaner like BLACKFIRE All In One APC or Optimum Power Clean about 10:1 (ten parts water). Mist it onto a microfiber cloth and gently try to work the dirt stains out.

When you are done take your microfiber and get the whole thing damp with water (not wet) and lightly wipe the entire headliner to get it damp. This way it will dry evenly and you will not get water rings.

Welcome aboard fella .

lol Thanks Sprocketser its feels great to be on a forum where people are actually willing and ready to lend you their knowledge and expertise on things you are unfamiliar with. I know i want to go to the wreckers and see if i can get an old fender or something to practice buffing and waxing on before i do my own car. I just got my car so dont wanna risk ruining anything yet lol I appreciate everyones help on here 100% and more.

Any updates on the "speckles?"

sorry no i havent had the time, have been moving to a new place so slowly getting settled in. Also have another question i have a dirt driveway which i cant stand but we rent so cant really do too much, is there a wax or something that would repel the dust from sticking to my truck?

Welcome to AutopiaForums. This is indeed a great place for information and guidance. I'm from Kitchener, so we are practically neighbors.

:welcome:
