New Subaru, leather and spilled gel

A worried neighbor called today to say that she had gel and some other hair products in her hair while riding in the backseat of her neighbor's brand new Subaru (tan leather). When they got out of the car, there was a stain where her hair and scrunchee laid against the back seat. She said it's like the movie, Coming to America with Afro Sheen.

She said it's quite oily and feels awful and wants to know what she can do to get it clean.

Thanks to you interior experts,

Rob

I would use a good cleaner spray like the Zaino Z9, to remove the gel and then treat the Z10 to condition leather.

This worked with my Tan leather

Gel is water soluble, so maybe even a damp (oops) cloth would remove it.

Yeah, I'd use a damn cloth :)

...maybe with a good all purpose cleaner.

Doesn't sound like a big deal.

One of my favorite movies!

It was actually called "Soul Glo" :^D

I used a damp cloth to get the gel out of my Celica's cloth headrest, no problem. And this was after months of build-up (it was getting a little tacky when I put my head on it). Taught me to cut back on my gel usage.

I agree, use a damp cloth to remove the gel. Then use a soft cleaner to remove any left over gel.

I would then get a leather protectant, a real good one and spray the seat and headrest so nothing sticks to it.

I started to think of SoGlo myself when i was reading the post.
