I understand, in business you have to think out of the box to reach new customers. Seems like the new breed off autopian staffers have a good idea for themselves.

So E-bay is "linking" to the Autopia Car-Care Store?
I will ask the "unintelligent" question of how this will benefit the car-care product buying consumer, when they could buy directly from the Autopia Car-Care Store?
Is it simple a larger marketing base exposure, IE; more people are aware of and use E-bay who may be looking for or shown (advertised to) car-care products and then directed to the Autopia Car-Care Store?

Great questions! Online marketplaces like eBay can be a good opportunity for us to introduce ourselves to a wider audience. Some online shoppers are loyal to their marketplace of choice and prefer to shop there exclusively. Some of our products also might appeal to people outside of the auto detailing world. For example, boat owners may not think to look at auto detailing websites for their cleaning and maintenance supplies, but they may find our Marine 31 line of products while shopping on eBay for other boat parts and accessories.
In the past we`ve mostly used eBay as a venue for open box items and clearance closeouts. We`ll still be offering those deals when they are available, we`re just expanding and reaching out to try to bring new Autopians into the fold.

I think the Amazon presence not only provides greater customer exposure, but is also good for "targets of opportunity" shoppers who know exactly what they are doing. You get it all from one storefront vs hoping between several sites.
I`ll use myself as an example. One afternoon I was shopping Amazon for something totally non-automotive related, but on a whim wandered into the auto detailing area to top up on QD spray. Much to my surprise PBMG had a great price on Kenotek. I tossed a bottle into my cart with my other purchases and checked out. Not only did I get the product I wanted, but it was at a good price through a known, good re-seller. And Prime shipping didn`t hurt either...

I miss the days when Autopian got first pick of “open box” items. I got 3 of my polishers that way. The good old days.
