New Sonus Products Initial Review

I recently recieved both the Sonus Gloss Shampoo as well as the Sonus Carnauba Spritz, thanks again David :).

I used both of these today and both are terriffic products.

-Gloss Shampoo-

This shampoo has virtually no suds, it just leaves the wash water a little yellow. I really dont prefer that as i would like some suds. The shampoo has excellent lubricity. My car was not very dirty at all and i think that was good because i dont believe the shampoo has a lot of cleaning ability. It does sheet very well and allows for decreased drying time. Overall a good shampoo that leaves a nice gloss on cars protected w/ a sealant.

Carnauba Spritz-

This is a mixture between a qd and quik wax i believe. This is by far the easiest qd type product ive ever used. You spray about 4 sprays on a panel like the hood and just wipe away, it literally wipes away. I just sprayed on, wiped once w/ a MF towel and then went over the entire section again. I cannot express how easy on and easy off this really is. Extremely nice product that i would highly recommend you try if you use a wax like s100 or souveran or blitz.

Sounds good. I know what you mean about suds--some are nice even if they aren't necessary. Now NXT--(ATTN: Mike Phillips) suds up way too much. So much that I can't fill up the bucket enough. I like suds but not that many.

The Carnauba spritz sounds good--but with EO Wax As You dry I don't know if it's worth it to order.

Ya, i do like suds and have a hard time just using what seems to me to be 'enhanced water' to wash my car.

Never tried WAUD but id definately think this would be a superior product especially if you use s100 or the like. Ive used alot of products and this is bar none the BEST.

1 fill up the bucket 75%

2 add soap

3 fill up the bucket to desired level.

I received my shipment of Gloss Shampoo, Acrylic Glanz and Vision Glass Cleaner the other day. Haven't had a chance to use them yet, but I did open the Gloss Shampoo to examine it a little. It looks and smells very similar to 1Z Perls, so I expect a similar result. I'm hoping I get a chance to try it out after work tomorrow.

i'm guessing the gloss shampoo to be the equivalent to perls shampoo?

I've never used Gloss Shampoo but I have Perls, and I absolutely love it. If you are comparing the two, the only thing I can say is Perls leaves loads of suds to work with, and has great lubricity. From what I have read here I would say that they are alike in the lubricity content but very unlike in the suds department. Just my .02

I used the Gloss Shampoo tonight. I found it to be very similar to 1Z Perls, although it seemed weaker straight from the bottle than Perls. The water was generally absent from any real suds, but had good lubricity. It beads almost exactly like 1Z. I had my "midnight sun" work light out while I finished up so I can't really say if it deepens the shine like Perls. Overall, a great product but not much different than what's already available.

Robb,

If you're not getting any suds, you simply need to increase the amount of product you're using. The shampoo does have good cleaning qualities, however, the polymer in the shampoo makes it very sensitive to water hardness.

since this is a sonus product review thread, i will add that i just tried their microfiber towel cleaner (for washing the mfs in)...

really did a great job of "renewing" the mfs- i threw them all in the washer, along with the big blues. soft and fluffy again!

and it did a pretty good job with getting the stuff outa the rags too (they really were clean with pretty minimal stains).

a bit expensive (about $10 for a bottle), but a nice luxury.
