New Rupes - SEMA

I haven't seen this yet here:

LHR12E: 12mm throw; 5" backing plate. Looks like the size of a GG DA

LHR75E Mini: 12mm throw; 3" backing plate. Competes against GG 3"

Microfiber pads: front and back have slots, should help with cooling

Backing Plate: 5" for 15E and 12E, lighter and repositioned center of gravity. Made for MF pads.

Quote from Paul Dalton:
"Crazy machines, awesome microfibre pads and sanding discs, but I will say that as Ive been testing them and developing them with Rupes for the last year!"

I have been holding out and not buying any tools -or- chemical for the past few months as I knew SEMA was coming and figured there would be new stuff I wanted. But this is killing me as I have found quite a few items I now want.

I would love to compare the LHR75E Mini (3") to my GG3". I have only used the GG3" a few time in tight spots as I feel it lacks the power needed.

The LHR 12E Duetto might just replace my PCxp.

I would also like to try the new Meg's X-tra Cut Microfiber Discs.

I like the idea of D302 Microfiber Polish as I didn't like D301 as it had "wax" in it. And I usually finish with a sealant or coating. So now there is a real 2-step for the MF system.

Troy I am in 100% agreement with everything you just said

Plus those MF pads from Rupes look crazy. I need to give those a run as well.

why why do you make my buffer purchasing decisions much more difficult?
:)

looking forward to reading some reviews and seeing maybe a more affordable price for the LHR12E perhaps?

Definitely getting the lhr75 mini. Those rupes mf pads look cool as well might try those.

The Meg's mf polish looks promising as well as the xtra cut discs.

Jeez a car is an expensive hobby to have

The LHR12E Duetto is very small and sleek I saw it today but didn't get any pictures of it. Think of a smaller Griots 3rd gen especially narrower.

Got to play with both of them yesterday. Excellent machines. Will be getting both AS SOON as Mr. KBM has them ;) (uber rush status). The new Rupes MF discs are very promising too.

I had the GG 3" polisher - for about a week, then I sent it back. It was weak! Then they "changed" it, yeah right. I do think the Rupes 12? I think it's the 12, is promising if it doesn't cost too much. I still won't pay 3.5 bills for a DA polisher.

Def agree with you about the gg3. I never got one bc of hearing it had no power, just used a 3.5 plate on my Meg's da or gg6. Then my uncle got the gg3 and I tried it a couple times and have to say I'm glad I never got it. Hopefully the rupes won't break the bank.

I agree! If they really want to compete in the entry level DA market they will be closer to $200. Wishful thinking ......................
