New Rotary Polisher...

For a Rotary that has 110V/60Hz 1500W 600-3000 RPM what would be the ideal speed setting 1-6 for cutting and polishing? I bought some meguiars pads, cutting and polishing pads as well.



Anyhoo my father bought this rotary from one of his works tool catalogs(Works for General Motors) and its a Makita knock off I believe...

Anyways I cant wait to test this badboy out. I love my P/C however I think I have outgrown it.
 
Between 2 and 3, it gives you time to break down the polish properly and it is very safe at this speed. 1200 to 1500 rpms is the best range, 1800 is ok but after that your in the danger zone.
