Generally I`d expect to use a cleaner first, then the 303 Protectant. Even then, unless things are really dirty, a water dampened microfiber towel is likely to clean as well as anything else. Do yourself a favor and apply the 303 with a foam applicator (I use cheap foam paintbrushes with the 303 in a small container and lightly "paint" it on), then buff dry with a clean dry microfiber towel. That stuff isn`t meant to be applied and let dry or to "soak in".
