-Megs Solo Heavy Cutting Wool Pad

-Megs Solo Light Cutting Wool Pad

Now, I already know the thought regarding the two polishes, but I'm curious about the pads. Who uses these? Thoughts? Opinions/suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Yellow wool pad is great. Easy to use like most wool and has nice cut. Leaves fine swirls but not bad for the cut it has IMO. I just got some PFW pads to compair cut and finish.....if it ever stops snowing here!

The Heavy Cutting pad I have not used enough to give an opinion on.

The Solo wool pads are fantastic. These pads are very flexible and handle well.

Most of the time, I use the light cut wool. It still cuts plenty and the finish left behind is pretty good. I only have one heavy cut wool, so my experience is pretty limited.

Suggestions?

Well, I would prime the pad. Wool pads benefit greatly from priming, so it's something to think about. I sometimes like to use the old W64 plate with the Solo wool. The plate properly centers the pad every time. The W66 is great for foam pads, but I occasionally like the W64, too.

Many thanks, David.

They have more cut than PFW. I use them when removing deep defects, and when polishing out wetsanding marks. They are nice pads.

Thanks, P.G. I now have a good idea how to prime foam pads...Wool on the other hand, I'm not so sure. I only have little bit of experience with PFW pads, and basically zero with regular wool pads. Any pictures or detailed explanation of priming a wool pad would be GREAT! Not sure if it matters, but I'll be using the fancy, schmancy 3M backing plate with the polisher.
