New procedure, need input

I've decided that I want to start using a PC :p , once the weather warms up here in CT, and I was thinking about a potential procedure. Here it is.

1) Dawn

2) Clay

3) Z7 Wash

4) Poorboys 2.5/1.0 or

Menzerna Twins or

Meguiars polishes (I think they're 83, 82, 80, 9??, correct me if these are the wrong ones.)

5) AIO

6) SG or UPP (do I need this with AIO followed by Z5?)

7) Z5

8) Z2

9) P21S or

S100 or

Natty's

I was looking for input on....

#4 - Which combinations are good on badly swirled paint/not badly swirled paint.

#9 - Just wondering depending on the car color what your preference is.

I currently do this procedure, via hand

1) Dawn (once in a blue moon)

2) Clay

3) Z7

4) SSR2.5/1

5) AIO

6) Z5

7) Z2

8) P21S

Thanks for the input:wavey

If I were in your shoes, I'd stick with the products you're already using (the SSR 2.5/1, AIO) and learn the PC using them. The fewer variables you change in a procedure the less chance of something going wrong.

Your Q on #4 is gonna be a personal preference as they're all just about the same, functionally speaking. Ditto on your LSP, though AFAIK the S100 and P21s are the same thing packaged differently.

Ditto what Accumulator says. Just stick with the SSRâ€â„¢s that you already have, but if you were to get the Megâ€â„¢s their equivalent would be #83 and #80. With the proper pads and techniques both the SSR or Megâ€â„¢s combo should take care of most problems youâ€â„¢ll run into. The combinations on badly swirled vs. not badly swirled is simply how aggressive (abrasive) a polish you start with. If SSR1 or Megâ€â„¢s #80 wonâ€â„¢t remove them then step up to SSR2.5 or Megâ€â„¢s #83.

Also, in your âہ“potential procedureâ€Â you list both Klasse SG and Zaino. Both are good sealers, but just pick one of them, and since youâ€â„¢re already using Z thatâ€â„¢s what Iâ€â„¢d go with for now.

If youâ€â„¢re pleased with P21S I see no reason to change that either, but you can certainly pick up some addition waxes to try (thatâ€â„¢s what we all do here). You should look through the âہ“Click and Bragâ€Â forum for different ideas in that area. After you perfect your current product list by using the PC and do some additional reading to see what others are using you can then start trying different combos. Believe me, you can spend many, many hours here reading about all the different combos others have tried or are using. Good luck with your PC, youâ€â„¢ll love it!

Thanks for the input. Guess I'll be using SSR, but it's too cold outside to do anything so this is going to have to wait til it gets above freezing outside.

Any suggestions where to get a PC and proper pads for a nice price? Thanks.:bow

For the PC try Lowes.. should be $99... for the pads I heard that http://www.autopia-carcare.com/ is selling LC pads at 40% off.. thats a REALLY good bargain!
