New pressure washer wand

Tex Star Detail

So I ran over my pressure washer wand with a Hummer the other day.:notme: :passout:
Yup, that's right, I ran that sucker over. Now, it is as crooked as a politician. I had to finish using it the rest of the day, and man did it get me soaked....:rain:
So today, I went out and picked up a new one.:ra

Dewalt brand.

Feels SO much better in my hand. Feels like it is built very sturdy. Picked it up from Home Depot.

I got one just like that two weeks ago. The one that came with my pressure washer would give me a blister in the web of my hand when I used it. I complained to DeWalt and they replaced it with the DP 65. It also has an optional side handle that helps control it when in use. 3750 lbs. of pressure can be tiring when used for extended periods of time. The side handle helps. It is much more comfortable than the DP 60.

Maybe that's something I would have to work up to. :D

The blister thing wasn't the baby hands though. It was the way the back part of the gun was designed. When you hit the trigger and the wand would torque up the back of the wand handle would pinch and rub the web of my hand (either hand) it just wasn't ergonomically friendly. This new design is a huge improvement and has a rubber back strap in the area where the problem existed. I have to believe I wasn't the first guy to complain of this problem and that it was likely the reason for the redesign.

Where were you able to buy the wand alone? I don't think I've ever seen them offered seperately.

I have not seen them separately in any local store to this point, only on the web. I'm sure it's just a matter of moving through old inventory. Apparently they are available in Tex's area. I got mine through the authorized DeWalt repair center in Salt Lake City. I received mine as a warranty replacement for the original gun. It uses the same lance. Interestingly enough they didn't want the original (only used twice, total of 6 hrs.) back. So now I have one of the old style blister makers and the better new design. I bought my pressure washer in December. They began offering the new gun with the same pressure washer (13 h.p. 3750 lbs./pressure) in 2007. I have seen them available at Home Depot with the new wand.

I can spray around corners now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The wand was built cheap anyways. I was looking around for one a few weeks back to replace it. There the plastic handle part meets the metal pipe, it was extremely thin metal.... Oh well....

I think I ran it over where the 2 pieces connect, because the plastic is not broken. A little warped, but not broken.

Man, I dont see why you guys use those long lances. I just have a little simple 18" lance on mine for doing cars and SUV's. The only reason I would use a long lance is for RV's or other tall vehicles.

I see some guys bypass the lance all together and just go with gun and nozzle, I don't care for that though, it doesn't allow me to give roofs a good rinse.

That really stinks but at least you have a almost working backup. Did you decide to have some fun on the back of that gate or were you planning to play some inverted checkers lol :crazy2: :rofl
I can see why the saleslady thought that your deck was new.

I don't wash cars with mine. I use it to clean the concrete, in this case the lance is a good thing. It also adds ballast.
