New Porsche came with straight line marks

Hello guys, I just received my black Cayman S last week and I think after the dealership removed the large sheet stickers (dont know the exact name) off the paint, it has left some residue in the form of straight lines on certain areas (what seems to be edges of those sheets).. How should i tackle their removal? anything i should do before the claying/polishing process? the car has only been washed twice so far, and theyre not going away.

I would go to the dealership and ask them what they use and to give you some of this product. Question them about any special conditions or application requirements. Most likely it will just be an adhesive remover.

Which of the following products should I try? Im not sure if a clear coat safe adhesive remover is available in my country :( ... Anyways, heres what I have (ordered from overseas)



Meguiars Bug and Tar Remover

Blue Magic Clay Bar (fine grade)

WD-40

Isopropyl alchohol:water 1:1

RMG

Victoria Lite Cleanse
 
I'd try IPA first then Bug and Tar remover. If those don't work, try automotive Goof Off that you can find at your local auto parts store. Let us know what works best. My CS should be here in February so I'll be in the same boat.
 
IMO, take it back to the dealer and make them clean it. All that money for that SUV and that is how they give it to you. BULL!

I dont know if Id trust any dealership to touch my paint :scared: Hes probably better off taking care of it himself.
 
I use Goo Gone when doing my new car prep... Works like a champ on that glue residue from the edges of the plastic.. Apply it with a soft microfiber towel and you'll be in great shape.
