The extremely slick look of Todd's Solara...

In Todd's words..."For anyone that is interested, my Solara has AIO + EX-P plus 2 coats of a mystery sealant I tested and a coat of Nattys that was applied today! The flake was muted a bit, but the slickness and wetness improved dramatically!"

Many thanks to Todd for taking pics with his new Canon A95, a quality camera.

The first picture is dripping wet! I really love the depth you get on silver.

So, without telling us the name of the mystery sealant can you tell us a little bit about it? Ease of use, durability and general impressions?

I really don't know what it is. :nixweiss Autogeek sent me two spray sealants to test after I posted pics of my car with AIO + EX-P. One was pretty easy to use, very slick, really brought out the flake and had a nice look...durability was a little disappointing for a sealant. The other was not very slick and difficult to remove even using WOWO so I only used it on a few panels on the drivers side of the car and topped it with the other spray sealant. I don't know that either will make it to the market (or if they may already be on the market. This truly was a totally blind test. The better of the two I would seriously consider buying if I knew what it was; with the ease of use, durability wouldn't be a huge concern for me...it was a nice booster for the EX-P!

There is nothing I like better than finely detailed silver rides!!! :bow :xyxthumbs I use a Canon Powershot A95 myself...great little camera. Easy to use and takes some quality pics.

Lee and Todd if you are not terribly busy this Memorial Day weekend I am one of the sponsors of a local f-body show and will be working there all weekend. It would be great to meet you guys. PM me for details if you're ineterested. :up

I will make a point of being there. I guess our mutual friend Fran will also be there with the Zaino car...

Thanks for the nice compliments everyone...I wish you could all see how slick Todd's car is. If you laid a heavy towel on top of the finish it would slide right off. My trunk may be as slick as that but Todd's entire car is that way.

AIO + Souveran = :drool

Looks amazing...Still haven't seen any cleaner silver ES's and Solara's than your twos.

Thanks Sean. We put a lot of work into our cars. Maybe Greg will bring his silver Solara to our June meet and we can have a "Best in Silver" contest. :D

I have a new combo on my car and in my opinion, it is even wetter looking than before. I'll take pictures and send them to a select few people. Was going to respond to your posting of the pictures on DC but "The Fuzz" and I got into it briefly and it resulted in me having him terminate my account. LOL

June meet? I'd like to go to it but I do not know if I can. :) Besides, you could not handle the competition you would have. :D :p

Todd,

Like I said the other night, I bet the samples AutoGeek sent you were of the new Detailer's Pride sealants. May be worth asking them.

Greg,

DetailCity seems to be completely down now. Send Todd your pics and process and he can forward them to me. I'm interested in seeing them. :)

The 2 samples were very different products. One of them may be the DP sealant...is it a spray?

Are you banned on DC?

You've got to at least say what your new combo is!

Todd,

The Detailer's Pride line has both a liquid sealant and a spray sealant.

Technically, I am banned from DC but I got the last word in. I grew tired of people not being able to voice opinions that differ from Dwayne's and "The Fuzz's" and when I called "The Fuzz" on it, his dictator like response pissed me off. After calling him a couple of things, I told him to delete my account. He did within minutes, LOL. That's okay, Autopia is a far nicer site and Dwayne lost another customer.

Current combo is VM + RMG + YCW + CMW. I am thinking of putting a coat of Souveran on tonight.

BTW, I tried the DP Auto Bath Shampoo. Mediocre lubrication but it smells nice.

I don't like how DC has added in so many forums...they don't get enough traffic as it is. It adds unnecessary complexity. I still like the vendor forums there though as I enjoy reading the Poorboys and Autogeek activity.

The added forums are what promted the discussion that caused "The Fuzz" and I to get into it. Oh well. The administrators of that website are their own enemies.

I'll get new pictures of my car tomorrow. I am playing with Souveran, Paste Glaz, and Natty's right now, LOL.

Mysteriously, my last post on DC was somehow deleted. Need I say that I was criticizing the recent makovers quite hard???

Oh, beau silvers & golds!!!
