New photos from the new camera

I've been unable to post for about 3 weeks now, and we hope to have the problem cured.

I recently got a new Canon Rebel XSi, so I had to snap a few shots of the TL-S. This was after a quick wash with 1Z Perls and a wipedown with OID.

Enjoy.

If you didn't see the windshield wipers, you'd think this was just a shot of the ceiling!

I haven't polished in months. The last time was with PoliSeal, and then topped with DWG and P21S 100%.

That combo looks awesome. Did you see any swirlys in the sun?

Thanks...I have to agree.

After 3 months of weekly washing, I can just now barely notice a small flaw here and there. But with Honda black, I'm really happy to be about 97% defect free!

Nice look - the finish is holding up really well. The new Canon: were you using full auto or were you making adjustments as you went along? Just curious, because the quality of those shots has me thinking about trading in the old Nikon for the new Canon.

Thanks. Yes I am really happy with how well the finish is holding up...especially with Acura black. The stuff is so soft that if you even think about swirls...they will appear!

I was using full manual mode on all of the shots. Even in full auto, or AV/TV/whatever mode, it still takes brilliant photos.

Awesome pics! I just got a Rebel XT as well. What were your settings in Manual mode for the outdoor sun shots? Iso/shutter speed?

Welcome, Todd. When perfect, or near perfect, that color is fantastic. I polished an 2002 Accord Coupe in NPB a couple of weeks ago, and once I was finished it was unreal how the flake popped! In my garage under the halogens, it looked navy. I agree though...it was the softest paint I have worked on to date.

I'll use ISO 100 for the outdoor shots. Each of the photos will have different settings however. Choose your ISO (100 for example), then choose your aperature (f/5.6 for example), and then let the camera's meter tell you where you're at, and adjust your shutter speed accordingly. If you just got a DSLR, and have never used the Manual mode before (or even if you have), I highly recommend picking up the book Understanding Exposure. Revised Edition by Bryan Peterson. I had never used the M mode before...read about a dozen pages into the book, and was taking great photos in full manual mode. Once you realize how easy it is, you'll rarely use any other mode.
