New PC Detailing Effort

It got unusually warm here, so I decided to give my new PC a try on my wife's black 2001 MB E430 and my 1997 silver BMW 740il. In two days, I did the following for each:

1. Wash with BF shampoo

2. Clay with Pinnacle polyclay

3. Apply 3M SMR for dark cars with white CMA polishing pad

4. Apply BF polish with white CMA polishing pad (hood and trunk only)

5. Apply BF wax with gray CMA finishing pad. Remove wax with PC and terry bonnet.

6. Misc items (use Black Again on BMW trim, do tire dressing, etc.)

First time using a PC. I found it to be easy to handle plus was happy to see a big improvement over my manual effort at removing swirls. I'm not great at this yet, but with this forum's help, I'm learning a lot and getting there slowly but surely. The pics aren't great as the sun was going down, but hopefully there's enough detail for you to see what the end result was.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. One thing I forgot to mention to all of you who are professionals at this: you have my admiration. I'm a pretty strong guy and work out everyday, but I was completely beat after running through the detail steps above. I don't see how you guys can do 2 or more cars like that everyday! :bow

The PC definitely helps, but it was still quite a workout...

Great deatailing! :xyxthumbs You have very good taste in automobiles. BMW and Mercedes are two of my favorite cars.

For your black car, you might want to top it with a good quality wax like P21S to deepen the shine and wetness.

Cheers,

My Black 7 Series
