New paint buffer trails

Ran into an issue with my 06 Accord, I was In a fender bender a few weeks ago and had a new bumper and fender installed and painted along with blending into the hood and door. Well I foamed it and gently washed with two buckets and then for some reason I was out of town this weekend and low and behold BUFFER TRAILS AAAHHHHHH!

Funny thing is it's only on part of the hood. I had previously polished the car with 105 and 205, Milwaukee polisher and Meg's maroon and yellow pads.

PPG paint was used, which is why I was unsure how to deal with these new swirls, wasn't sure how hard the clear was? Also what speed I should have the polisher set at and speed of movement?

I'd prefer to use what I have if that is possible, I also have some 3m perfect it, if that helps

You're lucky if you're only dealing with buffer trails on a repaint. These are super duper easy to fix. Depending on how deep they are, you can probably correct them with M205.  I would do a test panel to make sure. If not, 1 good pass with M105 will level them followed by M205 for perfection once again restored.

That's what I was thinking, I think I got a bit freaked out that the swirls were only on part of the hood

Yellow pad and m205 it is! I'm guessing moderate pressure, what kind of speed on the rotary?

Thanks again for the help, I thought it was going to be pretty easy to fix but weirdly hadn't dealt with this on new paint before, and just wanted to double check as this is my personal car

I'd go slow speed. Like #2 with a Makita. Keep it flat, medium pressure and make sure to spur the pad after every pass. If you have a DA, it will work easier and better.

Oh man I'd *HATE* to try finishing out via rotary with M205....no way I could pull it off and I had a *lot* stick-time with a Milwaukee back in the day.
