Hi all,
I am not completely new to detailing but still learning and enjoying. And as long as it’s still enjoyable I guess it’s a hobby. I have a Torch red 1993 Corvette, Black 1997 Grand Cherokee Limited and a 1999 Pewter S10 -4X4.
Anyway I’ve graduated from Advance Auto/ Wal-mart products and am seeking some advice. I got some Adams products in a silent Auction last December and like the products but the prices seem a bit high. So now I’m looking into Chemical Guys and Poorboys.
I haven’t pulled the trigger on a PC yet but hope to in the near future.
I get a good bit of compliments on the shine of my Vette when we do shows and events.
I used an older Craftsman Orbital and used Swirl and Haze remover then Fine machine polish and topped with Buttery wax. I know I can’t get the same results using this machine but it’s all I have for now. The night before an event ,I put a coat of Brilliant Spray Glaze on and Buff it off the next morning.
The Vette is garaged and it’s our weekend thing.
I am out of APC and Simple green which I’ve been using as GP cleaners on tires, wheel wells ,under the hood and anyplace I need something stronger than car soap. Should I continue to use Simple green type product or is there better cheaper products?
I have been using Tough Stuff on the carpets and looking for better more economical cleaner there as well.
On the tires and under the hood I’ve been using VRT and VRT 50/50. I like the look of the flatter clean rubber rather than the super glossy sling it everywhere look of some dressings.
On the paint I’d like to make it shinier and deeper if possible. It seems that the Buttery Wax doesn’t last very long on the Jeep and the Truck which are daily drivers. NXT 2.0 doesn’t last either.
So anyway I guess I’d like some recommendations on several products. Maybe to many for one post.
APC
Tire dressing
Carpet cleaner
Sealer, glaze &wax - especially for red
Thanks
