Hi everyone, my name is Russ Abbott & i am the owner and operator of Altered Image Auto Detailing here in Mechanic Falls, Maine. I started my business this spring shortly after my 23rd birthday and things continue to get better and better. Detailing has always been a passion of mine and I've always been told I should start a business and finally i thought I'd give it a try. I serve half a dozen Local Car dealerships on a daily basis. Occasionally i do a job for a retail customer but I try to put my dealers first on the list.
I have always been into cars, My dad started the family car dealership in 1980, 5 years before my birth and allthough it was booming when i was younger, things went downhill as i got older. My dad kinda lost intrest but I still sell a few cars here and there and keep whats left of the business going with my spare time.
I also drag race when there isnt snow on the ground, I have a bone stock 1990 ford thunderbird supercoupe that i stumbled across this summer that has been seing alot of use on the dragstrip. I've owned my share of performance cars from fox body mustangs, to older chevy malibus, even retired police cruisers and a handful of thunderbirds, cougars and lincoln mark viiis (mn12 chassis cars.) As long as its big, Rear wheel drive and comfortable I'm happy. I am a long time member of TCCoA.com - Thunderbird & Cougar Club of America, the thunderbird and cougar club of america and I post there quite often.
In the winter Months I drive my 99 ford F-150 supercab 5.4L 4x4. I spend alot of time in it, so i'm constantly upgrading it to my liking. It curently has a mild lift and 285/75/16 tires, and several subtle appearance mods. I'm also a Member of Ford Truck Enthusiasts, 1948-2009 Ford F150, Super Duty & SUV owners community and information source. Covers F100, F-150, F250, Bronco, Ranger, Explorer, Expedition, Lighting, Escape and More and I post on their forums occasionally.
I'm not really into popular, flashy, expensive cars, nor am i into 24 inch wheels and body kits, but i've always had impressive car audio/video systems and i think that will always be an addiction i cant get over.
It closing, its a releife to find a website and forum for people like me who are fanatics about the condition of their vehicles, I'm honored to be a part of this community and I can't wait to be a part of the family.
