New member, a few questions

After browsing for awhile, I decided to go ahead and join so I can get in on some discussions. Great site! I recently started using Clearkote Vanilla Moose and Poorboy's EX-P and they work fantastic on my truck. Even though my truck is new, you could really tell a difference in the paint, especially the way the metallic stood out. I do have a couple of questions for you experts though:

1. Can anyone recommend a good car wash? I can't seem to find one I really like, and that stays slick enough to clay with (I prefer to clay during the wash step to save time).

2. Can anyone recommend a good interior (dash, etc) cleaner? I definitely do not want a glossy finish after buffing.

3. Can anyone recommend a good method and cleaner for my seats? They're alacantra (sp?). I've never had this type of interior and I don't want to mess it up.

4. Can anyone recommend a good bug remover? Bugs are a big problem down here year round. I know keeping a nice finish will help with bug removal, but are there any good products out there that will help with their removal and not strip the wax?

Thanks for any help ya'll can give me.

1) I like the Meg's Gold Class or NXT wash for when I bust out the hose. For a quick wash QEW is the way to go.

2)Vinyl cleaner I like the wooloite mix. for treating the dash for protection I like the no shine look of 303.

3)Do a search for this...I know it has been talked about before. I would try woolite mix on it before anything else. but I never have had to clean it before.

4)and not strip the wax? I believe the ones I use strip wax. I use either 1Z anti-insekt or De-bugger from Hi-temp. Maybe a good bug sponge and your normal car wash soap will be a good choice if you wash frequently, so you dont have to resort to harsh chemicals.

1) I usually just use a QD when I clay so I can't really comment on the shampoo thing.

2) I use plain water on a microfiber to clean the interior and then follow with 303 Aerospace Protectant. IF there is a really soiled area, I'll use a little Ivory dish soap and water.

3) No experience with that material.

4) I hit the bugs with a generous amount of FD and wipe clean before they get a chance to harden on. If I can't do that immediately after driving then I use 1Z Anti-Insekt when washing. The QD thing is the easiest to do and will not remove your wax.

In addition to the previous posts, heres what to do with the Alcantara --

My method of cleaning the Alcantara was I used Stoner's foaming Trim Cleaner (great for removing grease, dirt, etc.) absorbed into a microfiber towel (not foam on headliner, seats.) I used the cleaner only on the finger print marks -- the rest of the headlliner, seats was with a damp cloth and a bit of cleaner already wrung into the towel. It's better to go over it a few times than the wrong way.

Goodluck! :xyxthumbs
