In the NXT line we have

NXT paste

Glass Cleaner

Tire Cleaner

Speed Detailer

Tire Spray

Quick interior Detailer

New trim shine

and a bunch of brushes and towels

Lots of new products. I was hoping for a professional version of NXT...or at least it being sold in a tan bottle. Looks like I have a lot of stuff to try.

********, that is what this is, nothing revolutionary here, i was expecting something good, oh well, the only thing ill be wanting to try is the paste wax

Im interested in the paste wax (when I finish off my liquid nxt :) ), the interior QD, the wash pad, and some of the brushes

:bounce

Well... I guess that means NXT is a "wax" afterall. I mean, if it was a "sealant" by the proper definition could it even exist as a paste?

I'm not aware of any other "sealants" that are available as a paste: not Zaino, not Klasse SG, not UPPP, not EX-P, not Wolfgang, etc... What gives? And what does this do to the 'ol wax vs. sealant debate?

Just curious. :nixweiss Regardless I still like NXT no matter what it is.

Oh yeah, speaking of new Meguiar's products does anyone have link(s) to info on the new professional series products, like the replacements for Final Detail, APC+, etc. - stuff like that? I've been having trouble finding anything. Thanks.

Go to the home page, then to The Professional Store, then to the Automotive Detailing tab, which is where the Detailer Line products are.

Looking forward to trying out the NXT paste wax. I was hoping they'd make this. I wonder if it can be used as a topper for NXT tech wax, or will it just be an alternative method of application.

I do remember Mike saying the professionall version would be available in 2005. All the items shown on MOL look to be consumer products. So there still may be hope.

Their brushes look alright (sort of like OXO) but really, nothing really surprising and the microfiber's aren't anything new (just catching up). The cotton / MF blended towel looks interesting.

I just don't understand why they keep complicating their product line-up????

Consumer, 1-2-3, Gold Class, NXT, Pro, Bodyshop, Detailer and then mix in the odd ball item here (Scratch X etc.) and there and it's freaking complex to say in the least!

Why not just do away with the Gold Class (brushes could have been badged NXT) and Pro lines?

How many different washes to they have now? It's gotta be something like 6 or more? :shocked

How many different waxes to they have now? Probably something like 6+ (No. 16, No. 26, NXT, 3 (from the 1-2-3), GoldClass, Detailer Line, ...)

How many different vinyl dressing do they have now? In excess of 4 or 5?

I'm starting to get why a lot of my friends go to mother's line of products - simple, effective and easy to understand. Just like a lot of online products (clearkote, poorboys, 1Z ...) :up

Considering the number of products they released, I was disappointed. Nothing really that I want to try out.

Nu-Finish is generally considered a sealant, as it isn't a wax (officially it's called a "polish", but has protection) and it's available in paste or liquid. I think a "sealant" just has to protect. Technically wax could be a sealant. So could glazes. Generally products seem to be called sealants if they don't have carnauba wax in them, so any "synthetic wax" could be a sealant. Waxes that have both polymers and carnauba would be hybrids, but if there are only 2 classes (wax/sealant) it would be up to the mfg. to determine the products placement. Kind of like the "wax/polish/glaze" name thing.

Just my thoughts on this. :nixweiss

I was told that the NXT paste was replacing #16 and possibly #26. I guess we will see! I can't wait to try the NXT paste!

Megs has the best marketing in the world. They really Hype a product then it turns out to be just good.Do you really think they waited 10 years to release this wax,i don't think so but that is just me.Im sure there new products will be more hype. For those who think I am bashing MEGS im not I just know marketing from school and business

Let's not get cynical here. 6 car washes and 4 QD's...kind of adds to the fun of it, no? Ultimately, this continual product differentiation will backfire...I mean, there used to be Oldmobiles and Plymouths, you know?

I'm a Meg's guy and I could hardly figure it out before...how does "insane" tire shine fit in with "hot" and with "endurance", oh and do you want urs in a pump or aerosol, high or low gloss?

If this sounds like I'm not taking this seriously, I'm not. I started using Meg's when I had to go to an autobody store to get the numbered products, when it seemed like THEY took it seriously. At least they didn't announce anything with blue crystals.

Don't take ME too seriously, I'm a little grumpy this morning.

That phrase caught my eye too. I don't believe it either because I think in 10 years paints change. :(

Yeah, that bothers me too. Too many seemingly identical products with different names. I think it is deliberate so you will buy more because you might think they are really different. In my case, it makes me buy less or none because I can't figure out which ONE I really want. I buy someone elses product because it targets a specific need and doesn't compete with itself.:(

I come from the computer industry, which reinvents itself every 18 months or so. Old concepts are all-of-a-sudden brand new again. The car care industry is no different. It has to reinvent itself every couple of years to remain fresh. Some of the spin is new packaging and some of it is truly new invention or better technology.

I think Meguiar's has a "better idea" with its brushes. The handles are reversable to change the angle of use. This is important when you have wheels with a deep offset. I'm anxious to get my hand on them.

My understanding of NXT paste wax is that it is a faithful rendering of the existing NXT Tech Wax in a paste form. It will be marketed to people who prefer waxing with a paste.

I don't see that Meguiar's is complicating their line; it is evolving. I'm sure we will see older product drop out of their catalog as these new products come up to speed.
