Sorry if this gets long. I recently picked up a 350Z, silverstone is the color. It is a kind of dark silver/grey, gunmetal color. So I decided I was going to treat it right. I didn't know much about detailing, but I had read some stuff on some Z sites. Just enough to confuse myself. So I carefully washed it, two bucket method, no circular motion, real careful using Mothers. Then I carefully clayed it. Then I put on a coat of Mother's sealant/glaze. Then a coat of Mother's pure carnuba (liquid). A whole lot of work. Worth it. But...its just not enough. Yes, it is a fine line between hobby and mental illness. Then I found this site, which is a great source of information, but somewhat of an overload. I'm pretty confused about a number of things. Alright, I'm confused about a lot of things. I really liked the look of the carnuba and the "depth" it creates. That is what I'm aiming for. I'm reading some good comments about the PB stuff and was considering that and have some questions about the process I'm considering and some products:
1) should I use a polish such as PB professional polish after claying? The paint is in great condition, new car, no swirls. I'm getting pretty confused about polishes/cleaners, how can it be non abrassive and "polish"?
2) recommendations for a sealant, PB EXP? Wolfgang Deep Gloss? UPP?, I am looking for a "deep" look. Should I just stick with the Mother's sealant/glaze?
3) After the sealant PB Natty or Pinnacle signature? or is this just overkill after sealant?
Any input would be appreciated.
