New Hood & bumper, freshly painted....treat differently than rest of car?

Wow, I didn't know that detailing was so involved..........thought it was wash, wax, & done. I have some swirl marks in my 95 Maxima SE, and bought some Meguiar's Scratch X for the initial oxidation/swirl removal. I recently had my car broken into (Body shop replaced the entire dash, middle console), and the bodyshop inadvertantly jumped Max into a workbench (car was still in first gear). Anyway, they had to replace the hood, front bumper & fog lights, so I essentially have a new front end. I shouldn't use the scratch-x on these new parts, right? I'll be doing everything by hand, and I'll be claying the rest of the car.... should those new parts be included? Anyway, I recently read that Carnubas should be used on darker colored cars, and Polymers on lighter ones.......I just purchased Meguiar's Clear Coat (paste) wax last night, and want to know if I should get something else. (that's available retail) Anyway, can I follow up the wax with a coat of s100 for the high-gloss finish, or will anything else I apply strip the initial coat? Any help would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks!!!!

I wouldn't put anything but pure polish on the newly painted areas for at least three - four months. I'd use Meg #7. I'd keep it very clean but I wouldn't wax it until the paint has hardened up a bit.

For the rest of the car, if it is a medium to dark color I would use a carnauba and not a polymer. I'd use Meg #26 after a clay, clean and polish.

On dark colors, Meg #26 shows a deeper shine than any of the polymers I've used including Zaino. I prefer the polymers on light colored cars though.
